It depends on the risks in your workplace, which come from your own needs assessment. Low risk sites such as offices and shops usually need one day Emergency First Aid at Work. High risk sites such as factories, farms and construction usually need the three day First Aid at Work. If you are unsure, tell us what your team does and we will point you to the right one.

Emergency First Aid at Work is one day and covers the immediate emergencies a first aider is most likely to meet. First Aid at Work is three consecutive days and adds a wider range of injuries and illnesses. Both certificates last three years.

Yes. Anyone caring for children in an early years setting needs paediatric first aid that meets Annex A of the EYFS statutory framework. Two day Paediatric First Aid covers the full requirement, and it is the certificate inspectors check at an Ofsted inspection.

Yes. Every employer must provide first aid cover, and there is no minimum number of staff below which the duty stops applying (HSE). How much cover you need comes out of your own needs assessment.

HSE stopped approving first aid providers in 2013, so no provider can hold that approval. Our courses are designed to meet HSE guidance and carry FAIB accreditation, which is what employers and inspectors look for.

There is no fixed ratio. The number comes from your needs assessment, weighing the hazards on site, how many people work there and how far you are from help. HSE publishes suggested numbers as a starting point, not as a threshold.

Every delegate receives a FAIB accredited certificate as standard. Where a regulated qualification is required for tenders, inspections or funding conditions, the Ofqual route through Qualsafe Awards is available on request; tell us at the booking stage.

Your first aid certificate is valid for three years from the course date for all the accredited courses, unless specified otherwise.

Within 48 hours of completing a standard first aid course. Mental health first aid certificates are issued by Nuco and can take a little longer.

If your First Aid at Work certificate has run out, the two day requalification route is no longer open to you and you need the full three day course again. If it is still in date, book the requalification before it expires.

Yes. Any course can be delivered onsite for a group of up to 12, priced per group rather than per delegate, anywhere in Cumbria. You provide a room with clear floor space; we bring everything else.

Open course places are priced per delegate and onsite training is priced per group of up to 12, both plus VAT.

Yes. Klarna and Clearpay are available on individual and small group bookings, so you can spread the cost rather than pay up front.

You get a confirmation email within a few minutes, with the date, venue and joining details. On the day, bring a phone or tablet for the end of course assessment.
