Delivering compliant first aid training for workplaces, schools and individuals since 2012.
Carlisle First Aid Courses is the Cumbria arm of Safe Haven Training Ltd, a first aid training provider set up in 2012 by Ian Bryan, a former NHS paramedic.
We run accredited courses in Carlisle and deliver onsite training anywhere in the county.
Since 2012, the business has certified more than 32,000 workplace responders, with a 99% first time pass rate.
We offer regulated qualifications through recognised awarding bodies.
Our trainers come from the ambulance service, the fire service and frontline care, and every one holds a current teaching qualification.
That background changes how a course runs. The scenarios are ones the trainer has dealt with, and the practical sessions take up most of the day because that is where people learn.
We train businesses, schools, nurseries and councils across Cumbria, at the Carlisle venue or at your premises.
Before founding Safe Haven Training, Ian Bryan spent over three decades as an NHS Paramedic and Air Ambulance responder.
That frontline experience shapes every course we deliver, focused on real scenarios, real skills and real confidence.
Most workplaces need Emergency First Aid at Work, a one day first aid course. High risk sites and larger teams usually need First Aid at Work, which runs over three consecutive days.
Nurseries and childminders need paediatric first aid to meet EYFS requirements. Anyone leading groups outdoors needs outdoor first aid training, which we deliver onsite rather than as an open date.
